Captain Nick grew up hearing the same phrase passed down through the generations: his Great Grandad was “from the ships.”
No one ever seemed to know exactly what that meant, or where he had really come from. Was he a sailor? A dock worker? A wanderer? Or was there something a little more mischievous hidden in the family history?
Curiosity eventually got the better of him. Nick started digging into Liverpool’s maritime past, hoping to uncover a few clues about his Great Grandad’s roots. What he found instead was a forgotten world of sailors, smugglers, privateers and pirates, all tied to the city’s docks, taverns and waterways.
That discovery sparked an idea.
Liverpool has always been a city built on ships, stories and a proper good night out — so why not bring it all together? From that mix of family legend, local history and Liverpool party spirit, World Pirate Tours was born.
Captain Nick created the city’s first Pirate Pub Crawl: a wild, hilarious adventure through boats, bars, games, shots and sea-soaked chaos.
And the rest, as they say, is history… or possibly piracy.

Nick is the brains behind World Pirate Tours, which is worrying for everyone involved. Usually found shouting “AHOY!” at strangers, carrying props across Liverpool, or convincing groups that tug of war is a perfectly normal thing to do on a night out.
Rhe brings the sparkle, the energy and the “right, you lot are doing this properly” attitude. Whether it’s hens, birthdays or team socials, she keeps the group laughing, moving and fully in the spirit.
Emily brings the fun, the laughs and the kind of energy that gets even the quietest person joining in. She is usually found encouraging chaos, cheering on the underdogs and making sure everyone gets their moment.
Tom is the man you want in charge when swords, ropes, cups, balls and competitive adults are involved. He brings the banter, keeps the games flowing and somehow makes every group believe they are destined for victory.
Lillie keeps spirits high, games loud and photos flowing. She is the one making sure nobody hides at the back, nobody escapes the fun, and everyone leaves with at least one ridiculous story
Eleanor is the crew member who keeps everything ticking while still managing to cause a healthy amount of trouble. She brings the laughs, the energy and the pirate spirit from start to finish.
